The Dallas Mavericks have been struggling lately but Saturday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons is a great opportunity to string a couple of wins together. This is the first time the Mavericks and Pistons are playing one another this season. Dallas is favored by 7.5 points with Detroit only winning five games at home all season. The Pistons are coming off a win though and it brought them double digits in the win column for the first time. Detroit beat the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday 118-112. Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham were an incredible duo in the game in what is hopefully a sign of things to come with this young and rebuilding team. Ivey led the game with 34 points and Cunningham was not far behind with 32. It was the first home win for the Pistons since January. Detroit will be going for back-to-back wins at home for the first time this season.

The Mavericks broke a three-game losing streak in their last game beating the Miami Heat in a 2006 and 2011 Finals rematch. Luka Doncic scored 35 and it was good enough for his fifth consecutive 30-point triple double. It took a rally from the Mavs to hold on to the win though. Doncic is so consistent in proving he is one of the best players in the league. Lately it hasn't been enough though and he will need a lot more help even against the struggling Pistons.
